Eau de Cologne Mint is a beautifully aromatic variety of peppermint with strongly scented foliage and a fresh, uplifting fragrance. The leaves have a distinctive citrusy, minty aroma and make a lovely addition to herbal gardens, pots and sensory gardens.
Like other mints, it is a vigorous perennial that spreads readily, making it particularly well suited to growing in containers where it can be kept contained.

Season: Spring – Autumn
Position: Full Sun to Part Shade
Soil: Rich, moist and well-drained
Watering: Keep consistently moist, particularly during warmer weather
Fertilising: Feed with compost or organic liquid fertiliser during active growth
Height: Approximately 30–60 cm
Spacing: 40–60 cm
Growing Tips
Mint is vigorous and can spread quickly through underground runners. Growing in a pot or contained garden bed is recommended if you want to prevent it from spreading.
Harvest fresh leaves regularly to encourage new growth. Cut the plant back after flowering or when it becomes untidy to encourage fresh, bushy growth.
The strongly aromatic leaves can be used fresh or dried for herbal tea and other traditional herbal preparations.
Companion Plants
Mint is best grown in its own container as it can become invasive when planted directly into garden beds. If growing nearby, suitable companions include Lemon Balm, Chamomile, Calendula and Yarrow.
