BENEFITS

Gotu kola is one of the most beloved mental rejuvenates in Ayurveda. Best known for its long and impressive history of use for enhancing intellect and mental acuity, it also soothes the nervous system, purifies the blood, and promotes healthy skin and hair. In Sri Lankan folklore, for instance, it is said that gotu kola is what gives elephants their celebrated capacity for memory and longevity. Gotu kola is often classified as a rasayana (rejuvenative herb) that works to slow the effects of aging.

A small, water-loving perennial creeper of the Apiaceae family, Gotu kola is thought to have originated in the Indian subcontinent, although it can be found in warm climates across the globe.

GROWING CONDITIONS

Season: All year / Perennial

Soil: Can tolerate poor soils

Watering: Keep in a cool and damp area

Position: Part shade

Fertilizing: Liquid feed

Use: Add Leaves and stems to salads and smoothies. Dry and use for a herbal tea. Great brain boosting herb!

Growing tips: Gotu Kola can be invasive to wetlands, keep in a pot. Gotu Kola Loves shaded and wet areas, Places like under birdbaths or near your tap.
